Head of School Welcome

Mrs Helen Campbell

Head of School

At Pencalenick

We focus on what our pupils can do and set high standards for both academic attainment and social development.

We deliver learning packages that are personalised, flexible and innovative. This is underpinned by relationships that are mutually respectful and caring; there is a tangible feeling of being part of a very large supportive family. Staff have an ever developing specialist knowledge and an absolute belief in the pupils’ abilities to achieve skills that will prepare them for transition from school.

We provide full access to the National Curriculum according to the needs of the pupils. Some will follow a secondary school style timetable whilst others will follow a more class based semi-formal curriculum with the opportunity to move between the two. When it is necessary we create totally bespoke packages of education.

Our boarding provision offers a wide range of activities that make the most of what Cornwall has to offer. The care and support provided is outstanding and the boarders look forward to this special time in their day.

The school is situated on a unique site; it is beautiful and possesses something that staff refer to as ‘The Pencalenick Effect’, a transformation that happens because you are part of something special. There is a very strongly positive ethos of care, challenge and quality in everything that we do. Pupils, Parents and Staff all work together at Pencalenick to ensure that life in school is enriching and memorable.
