Safeguarding pupils is a fundamental aspect of our practise at Pencalenick School and is very much a whole school responsibility. All staff receive regular training with regard to child protection and safeguarding which enables us to deal both sensitively and appropriately with any issues that arise.
We are committed to safer recruitment of staff and a number of senior staff have attended training in Safer Recruitment procedures. All staff employed at Pencalenick School are required to have DBS clearance prior to commencing employment.
Mrs Campbell, Head of School, is the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead and Mrs Faulkner, Head of Care, the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. Staff, parents, carers and pupils are advised to contact either Mrs Campbell or Mrs Faulkner if they have any concerns surrounding the safeguarding of pupils.
Safeguarding - Child Sexual Exploitation
Sexual exploitation of children and young people under 18 involves exploitative situations, contexts and relationships where the young person (or third person/s) receive 'something' (eg. food, accommodation, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, affection, gifts, money) as a result of them performing and/or another or others performing on them, sexual activities.
