A-Prime Lead Teacher

The A Prime group follow a semi formal curriculum. We offer our students a structured, nurturing classroom environment which supports individual sensory, emotional and social needs; appreciating the strengths and uniqueness of each individual student and providing them with an introduction to curriculum subjects.

The group foster a TEACCH approach to classroom and teaching style, using visual structures to organise environment and tasks, offering flexible teaching and thinking, setting clear expectations and behaviour management and tailoring work to suit individual needs.

We offer access to curriculum based subjects such as English, Maths, Humanities, PSHE, Music and Art but also access ASDAN lifeskills; promoting a personalized learning approach and demonstrating and celebrating achievement in a range of alternate curriculum areas. We also believe that it is important to develop our student’s social skills by giving them the opportunity to integrate with the wider community and access activities such as sensory rooms, swimming pools, cafes and other points of interest.

Learning is explored through topic based themes, changing on a termly basis; allowing a fun and diverse way to explore a range of subjects throughout the year whilst still working towards the pre-formal curriculum achievement levels.
