Welcome to Pencalenick

Pencalenick School is a unique treasure in Cornwall's specialist secondary educational provision. The school offers high quality educational and social support for young people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities. Pencalenick is able to provide an exceptional learning environment where high expectations
and standards of achievement are underpinned by flexible, innovative and imaginative teaching styles. We develop strong caring relationships, specialist knowledge, skills and a total belief in every child's capacity to achieve irrespective of their difficulties.

 Ride London-Surrey 100m 2016

I am riding a 100 miles in London this summer as part of the classic Ride London cycling event in support of MIND, the mental health charity. The event is a major charity and fundraising opportunity and I aim to raise over £1000 for this very important cause. Any contribution, large or small will be very much appreciated, and will all go directly to the charity. Please feel free to drop in donations or sponsorship into the school office, or go directly MINDto the website at the link below. Registering for gift aid is very simple and ensures that the fund gets an extra 25%! Thank you for all your support and encouragement.

Andy Barnett

Principal – Pencalenick School

"The behaviour of students is outstanding. Students are exceptionally proud of their school. They are keen to tell visitors all about it and how much they enjoy school life. When asked by an inspector what they would do to improve the school, one student replied, 'Nothing - it is wonderful!'"

"One parent told of how her son had attended numerous schools and that Pencalenick was the first school that had 'listened' to her and 'worked with her' to ensure his needs were met. She said the school was 'amazing'."

"Teaching is lively and motivates students very well."

"Teachers understand the needs of their students and have strong, productive relationships with them."

"The school works hard to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to succeed."
