Residential
Pencalenick School, a proud member of the Special Partnership Trust, provides education and support for pupils aged 11–16 with diverse learning needs. As one of only two schools within the Trust offering residential education, we are uniquely positioned to provide pupils with the opportunity to engage in a vibrant, nurturing residential community. Our residential provision runs Monday to Friday during term time, accommodating up to nine pupils each night. It is an integral part of our wider school offer, enriching learning and personal development through carefully planned residential experiences.
The Statement of Purpose outlines how our residential provision operates, the opportunities it offers for personal development and independence, and the ways in which pupils are actively involved in shaping their experience.
At Pencalenick, we believe that residential life is not just an extension of the school day—it is a vital part of preparing pupils for adulthood, fostering confidence, independence, and social skills within a caring, fun, and inclusive environment. The Statement of Purpose also sets out the structures, policies, and practices in place to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and holistic development of every pupil in our care.
