Safeguarding pupils is a fundamental aspect of our practise at Pencalenick School and is very much a whole school responsibility. All staff receive regular training with regard to child protection and safeguarding which enables us to deal both sensitively and appropriately with any issues that arise.

We are committed to safer recruitment of staff and a number of senior staff have attended training in Safer Recruitment procedures. All staff employed at Pencalenick School are required to have DBS clearance prior to commencing employment.

Diana Barry, Assistant Head, is the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead with Gary Oak, Head Teacher, and Lorraine Faulkner, Head of Care, as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. Staff, parents, carers and pupils are advised to contact either Mrs Barry, Mr Oak or Mrs Faulkner if they have any concerns surrounding the safeguarding of pupils.
