Curnow School is an outstanding special school and a founding member of The Special Partnership Trust, an ambitious and inspiring collaboration of specialist provision in the South-West with a focus on excellence in learning for everyone. Curnow School provides a creative and supportive centre of learning for 104 pupils based across two sites (Curnow Lower School at Illogan and Curnow Upper School at Redruth) who have a range of complex learning, medical and communication needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and to support and develop the school in line with its shared values and priorities. We are looking for a dynamic and empathetic individual who will work in conjunction with our other part-time Family Liaison Worker to develop the school’s parent/carer engagement improvement strategy.

The successful candidate will ensure that the school is welcoming families to engage with us and fostering the development of mutual trust and respect. He/she will be IT competent and will have high standards of verbal and written communication. A passion and desire to provide parent/carers with a supportive learning and education community in which to thrive and grow is essential as are skills to identify and implement strategies to support diverse and inclusive ways to bridge complex barriers.
