The Local Offer and What it Includes

What is the Local Offer?

Cornwall’s SEND Local Offer describes the provision that is available for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families.

Cornwall’s SEND Local Offer helps families by gathering in one place, the information that they need to know in order to make informed choices about the support they receive.

It has been co-produced with parents/carers and young people with SEND. They chose the Care and Support in Cornwall website as the host for the SEND Local Offer. Have your say here

Cornwall’s Local Offer can be found on the Care and Support in Cornwall website: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/cornwall-send-local-offer/

Many services/organisations focus on meeting the needs of children and young people with SEND. These services are automatically part of our SEND Local Offer and are awarded the SEND Local Offer flash (an orange circle with LO inside it).

Other services/organisations are for everyone. If these services/organisations are able to describe how they include children and young people with SEND they are also awarded the SEND Local Offer flash. In order to do this, they have to complete the SEND Local Offer questions on the registration form.

Is the SEND Local Offer complete?

The SEND Local Offer is still growing.

Each day more provision, guidance and information is being added.

It will also continue to develop and expand as the SEND Local Offer responds to local need.  We also welcome your ideas and comments on how the SEND Local Offer can develop further.
